Tiburon police say they found boy responsible for anti-Semitic graffiti at elementary school

Police say they have identified a local boy as the person who spray-painted anti-Semitic graffiti at Bel Aire Elementary School last year in an incident that led to a local march against anti-Semitism and a resolution from the Tiburon Town Council condemning hate speech. Police Chief Michael Cronin said in a recent letter to school-district parents that police looked at the incident as a possible hate crime and after an investigation determined the graffiti was sprayed by “an adolescent male in the company of several friends.” Police then interviewed the kids with their parents and found they were “remorseful and embarrassed by their behavior.”
