PG&E points to human error as cause of blackout that affected 61,000 customers


Pacific Gas and Electric Co. officials suspect human error amid two repair projects resulted in an Aug. 15 outage that left some 61,000 customers across the Tiburon Peninsula and the rest of Marin County without power for at least an hour. The widespread blackout started about 11 p.m. and affected some 5,500 customers in Tiburon, 1,144 customers in Belvedere and 14,490 customers in Mill Valley, according to the electric company. The outage also cut power for residents of Sausalito and as far north as San Rafael and Fairfax.
