Belvedere has honored Tiburon resident Jerry Riessen with its Spotlight Award for Community Service, recognizing Riessen’s leading role in the successful effort to annex the 110-acre Easton Point property into the Old St. Hilary’s Open Space Preserve.

Riessen was presented with the award by former Mayor Ken Johnson and his wife, Maureen, former Mayor Bob McCaskill and former Planning Commissioner Nena Hart at the City Council’s Feb. 10 meeting.

“For over 30 years, Jerry has been working tirelessly to preserve the Tiburon property as open space and to keep it from development,” Maureen Johnson said. “We feel Jerry is really deserving of this award.”
