Belvedere may allow up to six units on single-family lots

Belvedere has unveiled a new 188-unit housing roadmap it hopes will satisfy state officials nearly two years after the original deadline.

The third public draft of the city’s 2023-2031 housing element continues to rely heavily on accessory dwelling units and Belvedere Land Co.-owned properties, along with an all-new incentive under California’s Senate Bill 9 that would allow up to six units on a single-family lot.

Residents can weigh in on the draft during a special public meeting set for 4 p.m. Oct. 30.
