Belvedere Vice Mayor Steve Block resigns
Belvedere Vice Mayor Steve Block has stepped down from the City Council less than halfway through his four-year term.
Block submitted his resignation to the city on March 17, Mayor Sally Wilkinson confirmed Monday. Block did not respond to an email or phone call seeking comment.
The council has 60 days from the date of Block’s resignation, or until May 16, to fill the vacancy by appointment or a special election. It was expected to discuss the issue and vote on which method to chose at a March 23 meeting, held after The Ark’s press deadline.
