Bungalow Kitchen launches limited omakase dinners, a la carte sushi

Melissa Zink Photography

The Bungalow Kitchen on Tiburon’s Main Street has launched three small nightly seatings of an omakase tasting menu from its new sushi chef, Yukinori “Yama” Yamamoto, plucked from San Francisco’s Pabu Izakaya, another Michael Mina restaurant.

The restaurant is also adding a la carte sushi to the menu in the main dining room starting today, Aug. 7.

The 14-course, $150 per person “Secret Sushi” tasting is held at the upstairs bar with room for just 12 guests per seating and will highlight fish flown in from Japan and dishes such as monkfish liver with ponzu sauce jelly; savory egg custard with shrimp, scallop and uni; Miyazaki A5 wagyu with shiitake and eggplant sauce; and an assortment of nigiri like otoro and anago.
