Councilmember absences force cancellation of Tiburon diversity task force meeting yet again

Tiburon’s Diversity Inclusion Task Force canceled its second consecutive meeting Dec. 11 for lack of quorum, making the board about 50-50 for the year as town councilmembers routinely fail to attend despite some insisting they remain part of its makeup.

 

The 10-member task force, which includes all five councilmembers plus five appointed residents, is supposed to meet monthly, though it held just six of its regular meetings, plus one special meeting, in 2024.

 


There were no meetings this year in which all five councilmembers attended and only one in which four showed up, with Mayor and task-force Chair Holli Thier the only councilmember to attend all seven held meetings.
