Del Mar Middle School is recognized again for academic and social excellence

Del Mar Middle School has once again been named a California School to Watch, a program that recognizes middle schools for academic excellence and for being developmentally responsive and socially equitable.

The school originally earned the distinction in 2022 and was recently redesignated for another three years.

The chosen schools serve as models that other educators can visit to see programs in action. When it first earned the honor, Del Mar was recognized for its standards-based assessment and feedback system, its varied opportunities for student leadership, its focus on whole-child development and for weaving social-justice activities throughout the school.
