Diversity task force appoints its vice chair to police panel

Writer: Francisco MartinezFrancisco Martinez

The Tiburon Diversity Inclusion Task Force has tapped Vice Chair Tina Shah Paikeday as its new representative on the police chief’s Citizens Advisory Panel.

Paikeday was selected by a 6-0 vote of her peers at the task-force’s March 19 special meeting. Members Isaac Nikfar and Alice Fredericks from the Town Council and Nooshin Navidi Latour, an at-large appointee, were absent, and the board has one vacancy.

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with, I think, what is a highly inclusive department and making sure that we bring that perspective to the community and educate others about what the Police Department is doing to incorporate perspectives,” Paikeday said in an interview after the meeting.
