At Rustic Bakery in The Boardwalk shopping center, Alessandra Beraldi transforms a corner table into a small classroom each Monday morning. This is where the Tiburon Italian teacher has worked with the same cohort of students for the past seven years.

“It’s my passion,” Beraldi said about teaching as she lunched there Feb. 25 with her dog, Cara. “I couldn’t think to do any other job.”

Born in Genoa and raised in Milan, Beraldi studied education in Italy before becoming a high school teacher there. She has now taught for more than three decades, including enrichment classes for Bel Aire and Reed Elementary schools through The Ranch for four years starting in 2014. She launched her own business, Italian with Alessandra, in early 2020, working with students who started as beginners and have progressed to an intermediate level.
