Fewer units, more parking for Strawberry senior-care project

The developer looking to build a residential-care center on a vacant site above Tiburon Boulevard in Strawberry has reduced the design by 11 units and enlarged the basement so it can serve as the parking garage.

According to final plans submitted to the county Nov. 12 by Larkspur-based Spirit Living Group, the 141,595-square-foot center will now feature a total of 109 units, down from 120 in a version of the application submitted to the county in September. The developer is now planning for 38 memory-care suites, down from 49, and 71 assisted-living units and independent senior-living suites at the center, which will be built at the base of a hill on 3.1 acres of the 6.6-acre property at 70 N. Knoll Road.

Members of the public can comment on the plans through Dec. 12.
