Fun run conquers city’s walking lanes

More than 100 runners participated in the third annual Belvedere Challenge fun run on Feb. 15, which this year traversed 19 of the city’s public walking lanes, about 2,100 stairs, in a race from West Shore Road to Sam’s Anchor Cafe via Belvedere and Corinthian Islands. The event is organized by resident Charlie Harrington, chair of the Belvedere Parks, Open Spaces and Lanes Committee. The entrance fee — a $2 bill — and other donations raised $2,002 this year toward lane maintenance and repairs, he said. (Photos via Charlie Harrington)
