Garden Plot: Local nurseries offer variety of garden gifts for the holidays
The holidays seem to roll around sooner each year, but the ideas for what to get your favorite gardener become more challenging as so many of us have everything we need and more.
A couple of decades ago, I got a concrete stepping stone that looks like a little chenille pillow your grandmother might have had on her sofa. My son said it was downright creepy because it looked so real sitting in the garden. Then I got a few more at Green Jeans Garden Supply in Strawberry. What I didn’t know was that these are called Tuffits and are made at Cottage Gardens nursery in Petaluma. They come in a variety of colors and shapes and make me smile every time I walk on one. Cottage Gardens also has some cool topiaries that are low maintenance (fake) but great looking … especially the bunny. Cottage Gardens is the prettiest garden shop around, a pleasure to browse.
