Hawthorne Terrace utility undergrounding district members to get $838,000 in refunds

Roughly $838,000 will be going back to Hawthorne Terrace residents thanks to a surplus left over from the neighborhood’s utility-undergrounding project.

The Town Council voted 4-0 during its Oct. 16 meeting to refund the money to members of the Hawthorne Undergrounding District, which covers 120 residential and commercial properties on Rock Hill Drive, Hawthorne Drive, Hilary Court, Mara Vista Court, Del Mar Drive, Palmer Court, the Belvedere Tennis Club, Community Congregational Church, St. Hilary Catholic Church and School and portions of Hilary Drive.

Councilmember Jack Ryan recused himself as he owns property in the district.
