Jeffrey Haynes

Jeffrey Haynes, a longtime Tiburon resident, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, in San Rafael at the age of 80. Born on April 5, 1944, in San Francisco, Jeff was a proud third-generation San Franciscan. He grew up in Burlingame, California, where he developed his entrepreneurial spirit and love for life.

In 1968, Jeff started Airline Services Unlimited (ASU), a company that served airline employees and made waves by introducing the first rolling suitcases for pilots. His stores, located all over the country, became a go-to for airline professionals. Jeff’s hard work and creativity left a lasting mark on the travel industry.

Jeff moved to Tiburon from San Francisco in 1978 and quickly became a big part of the Marin community. Known for his fun-loving personality, he loved golfing, boating on the bay, and rooting for his favorite team, the 49ers. He was a regular at Marin Joe’s, where he enjoyed a good martini, great company, and plenty of laughs. But above all, Jeff was a devoted dad to his daughters, Alicia Haynes and Carli Haynes.

Jeff is survived by his daughters, his sister Nancy Abel, his nephews Corey, Ryan, and Derek Abel, and his longtime partner, Jayne Mulloy. His family and friends will always remember him for his fun-loving nature, humor, and warmth he shared with everyone around him.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be planned in the coming months to honor his memory and share stories. In the meantime, donations can be made in his honor to The Vexas Foundation at https://vexas.org/.

Jeff will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His energy and the joy he brought to others will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.
