Jerome “Jerry” Meislin passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 12th, 2025, at Marin General Hospital, with his beloved wife Hilde by his side. At the age of 94 years, Jerry was both strong and clear-minded but had battled with heart and eye issues in recent years.

Jerry was born and raised in Brooklyn as the only son of Phillip and Theresa Meislin, both Russian immigrants. He attended Fort Hamilton High School, then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1952, and a Masters of Arts in Economics at Harvard in 1953.

Jerry then served as an officer in the U.S. Navy before moving to California, where he settled and raised a family with his first wife, Barbara, while becoming a successful real estate investor and developer. They amicably divorced in 1980 and have remained very good friends. Jerry subsequently married Hilde, with whom he has been happily married for 40 years.

Besides his career, Jerry enjoyed tennis, playing at the Cal Club in San Francisco and Harbor Point in Marin, where he competed in club tournaments and built great friendships. He also loved playing duplicate bridge, through which he developed other long-lasting friendships, while enjoying competing in both local and national tournaments.

Jerry was predeceased by his first child, Lori, who passed away at the age of seven. Jerry is survived by his wife, Hilde; two of his children from his first wife, Barbara: Kenneth (& Vera) Meislin and Marla “Mar” Meislin (& Tiffany); his grandchildren Andrea (Andy & Jack) Twilling and Mitchell Meislin; and his stepdaughter Cheryl Parisi and her children, Bianca Parisi and Alexander Parisi.

Jerry will be missed tremendously and lovingly remembered for his sharp mind, his warm, positive and gregarious nature, his easygoing and kind spirit, and his caring soul.
