Parents making push for new playground at Strawberry park

A group of local parents wants to upgrade an outdoor exercise structure at Strawberry Cove Park they say is underutilized and add a kid-friendly playground to better suit the needs of the neighborhood.

The proposal is being spearheaded by Strawberry Vista Homeowners Association board members Alex Smith, Marty Toth and Christian Michael, who also serves on the board of the Strawberry Recreation District. The district owns and maintains the small park on Seminary Drive, which sits along a marsh and cove of Richardson Bay behind De Silva Island, next to the Strawberry Cove Condominiums and across from the Strawberry Shores Apartments.

“We’re excited at the possibility of improving our local community with a revamp of the Strawberry Cove Park to be a safe playground for neighbors and their children to enjoy,” Smith said.
