Second annual Belvedere Challenge fun run of walking lanes is Feb. 10

Residents can traverse Belvedere’s historic walking lanes during a 4-mile fun run set for Feb. 10.

The second annual Belvedere Challenge is being organized by resident and Parks, Opens Spaces and Lanes Committee member Charlie Harrington. Participants can meet at 10 a.m. at the park bench on the corner of West Shore Road and San Rafael Avenue.

The event starts at 10:15 a.m. and takes runners and walkers up and down some 18 of the city’s 22 or so named public walking lanes, first by heading south along West Shore Road to Belvedere Avenue, then zig zagging back up the island to Beach Road, climbing the lanes on Corinthian Island and finally ending at Sam’s Anchor Cafe in Tiburon.

The course will give participants views of the San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Belvedere Lagoon, Belvedere Island, Corinthian Island, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island and downtown Tiburon.
