Sharks win Junior Olympics water polo championship with comeback, shootout

The Tiburon Peninsula Central Marin Sharks staged a storybook comeback to capture gold in the 12-and-under coed division at the 2024 USA Water Polo Junior Olympics July 28 at the Stanford Avery Aquatic Center.

 

The final was a rematch of the fifth-round game the day before, which Skip Water Polo Club of Merced won 12-7 — and of the 2022 Junior Olympics gold-medal match.
