'Start of a new day': Nowruz in Tiburon

Tiburon celebrated Nowruz, the Persian New Year, on March 30 at Zelinsky Park with performances by Tara Pandeya Dance and the Niosha Dance Academy, along with music from the Raaz Trio and DJ Turker Yilmaz, plus authentic food and drink. Nowruz has its origins in the Persian religion of Zoroastrianism, but it’s now a mostly secular holiday that’s been celebrated for more than 3,000 years.
