Mayor Holli Thier’s successful bid for a second term on the Tiburon Town Council was backed by more than $76,000 in contributions, including some $12,850 raised in the final late-October to Dec. 31 reporting period, according to the latest state filings.

Meanwhile, the other incumbent and victor in the Nov. 5 election, Councilmember Isaac Nikfar, missed the California Fair Political Practices Commission’s deadline entirely for the second time in the election season. In addition to the final-reporting deadline on Jan. 31, Nikfar missed the first pre-election filing deadline both last September and during the campaign for the interim seat he won in August 2023. He has repeatedly declined to comment on the matter, including when The Ark contacted him last week.

Thier and Nikfar were sworn into office Dec. 4 after earning about 42% and 41% of the vote, respectively, over challenger Andrew Thompson’s 39% and challenger Chuck Hornbrook’s 31%.
