Tiburon will spend up to $348,000 to fill in and level the four old wastewater ponds on newly acquired waterfront property by McKegney Green, with work to begin as early as next week.

The Town Council voted 4-0, with Councilmember Jack Ryan absent, at its Sept. 18 meeting to award a $312,813 contract, with a 10% contingency included, to San Francisco-based WestRock Engineering for the grading work on the four parcels and a $35,200 contract with Daly City-based EKI Environment & Water Inc. to oversee construction management.

After some two years of talks, the town in April purchased the four parcels, which sit on about 0.75 acres, for $576,915 from the Richardson Bay Sanitary District. It plans to add the land to its park network.
