Tiburon and Belvedere will each see their member dues rise by 3% for the second straight year under the Richardson Bay Regional Agency’s draft $1.56 million fiscal 2025-2026 budget. While overall expenditures are expected to drop by about 1%, officials say the increase in member dues is necessary to help balance a projected 10% decrease in overall revenue.
Â
The regional agency’s board of directors voted unanimously to adopt the draft budget at its March 14 meeting. It’s expected to approve the final budget at its May 8 meeting, ahead of the start of the new fiscal year July 1.
Â
The joint powers agency is charged with managing the bay and its anchorage. It relies on a combination of state and federal grants and dues from its members, which also include Mill Valley and Marin County, for its funding.
Â
With the 3% increase, those dues are expected to total about $1.16 million in fiscal 2026, accounting for the vast majority of the agency’s revenue. Under the increase, Tiburon will pay $179,618 next year, and Belvedere will pay $134,130. Mill Valley’s dues will increase to $89,809 and the county’s to $762,792.
