Tiburon eighth grader is one of fastest middle-distance runners in the nation

Tiburon teen Dash Keffer first became interested in running when he was just 5 years old and saw a poster advertising a 5K race in his hometown of Greenwich, Connecticut.
He recalls it sounded exciting that people could run that far.
“I wanted to try running as fast as I can for as far as I could, so it seemed like a way to do that,” Dash says.
Since then, the 13-year-old has lived up to his name, becoming one of the fastest middle-distance runners his age in the U.S. and setting the Amateur Athletic Union circuit ablaze with his performances last year.
