When Tiburon resident Arlene Rose Love ended up in Mendocino County during her travels some 25 years ago, her education in behavioral health prompted her to think of ways she could advocate for people struggling with mental health.
She learned of a Fourth of July parade in Mendocino, the unincorporated community 10 miles south of Fort Bragg, with open participation and got the idea to walk with a cardboard sign.

Love, 72, has now self-published a book based on that experience, “Will Work for Prozac: A Children’s Book for Adults,” with watercolor illustrations by Kate L. Blalack. She says she wrote the book some two decades ago but finally got around to publishing it with help from daughter Mikel Weigel.
