With his recent promotion to officer within the Tiburon Police Department, Deny Cruz says he’s achieved a goal he’s had since he was about 12 years old.

“It is definitely something I’ve always wanted to do is to be a police officer,” he says.

While he may be new to the role, Cruz, 28, is no stranger to the local force. He was hired while in college in 2017 as a police service aide and promoted in September to become the town’s ninth officer, a role created just for him.
