Travel Bug: Immerse in healing waters of Sonoma

A trip to the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa helped wash away some of my recent troubles. (Marybeth Bond-Sheppard)

The past few months have been punctuated with setbacks and memorials for close friends and culminated with the painful loss of our Maggie, a small Havanese-poodle mix. She was a cherished member of our family for 15 years.

 

After Maggie died, the weight of grief settled over me and my husband, Gary, like a heavy blanket. We each grappled with the emptiness left behind by Maggie’s absence. Gary encouraged me to take a break and travel somewhere; travel always boosts my spirits. My daughter Annalyse and I took this time to visit the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa.
