Trio of clergy aims to make religion accessible in podcast

A Catholic priest, a Presbyterian minister and a Jewish cantor walk into a coffee shop to discuss their next podcast.

 

That’s not the start of a joke; it’s a look into the planning process behind an ongoing effort from the Rev. Roger Gustafson of St. Hilary Catholic Church, the Rev. Dr. Bethany Nelson of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Cantor Naomi Weiss of Congregation Kol Shofar to engage members of the community in a light-hearted discussion of religion and related issues.

 

The three Tiburon clergy have been recording episodes of “A Priest, a Minister and a Rabbi Walk Into a Bar” since December 2022. The latest episode dropped in June, and the podcast is true to its name: It’s recorded at the appropriately named HopMonk Tavern in Novato.
